When the library to be temporarily closed, infomation will be posted.
Anyone who lives, works, or attends school in the Asaka city is entitiled to borrow materials (books,magazines,tapes,,DVD,CDs) from Asaka Public Library. There is no age limit to borrowers. Anyone who lives Wako,Shiki and Niiza city is entitled,too.
To apply for your library card, please fill out a registration form at the circulation desk and present it along with identification (e.g. identification card,driver's license,company I.D. etc.) that will confirm your name and current address. A library card will then be issued to you.
To check out books, Please take them to the circulation desk along with your library card. You may borrow a total of 10 books or magazines for 3 weeks without charge. And you may also borrow a total of 3 CDs or DVD or VHS.
To return books, please take them to the circulation desk. You don't need to show your library card. You can renew unreserved books and magazines only once.
When the library is closed, you can put books in the book drop just outside the entrance to the Library. CDs and DVD and tapes must be returned to the circulation desk directly.
Please consult library staff when you can't find the book you are looking for. You may also search by using computer terminals or internet.
When the desired material is in circulation, a reserve service is available.
Please fill out a reserve card, and we will hold the material and notify you when it is returned.
If the desired book or infomation is not available in our library, we will try to locate and borrow it from a perfectual library or from another library through an inter-library loan.
LDs and VHDs are available for use inside the Library. In exchange for your library card, a headphone will be lent to you. Library staff will operate the machines, for these materials.
When you use these, please fill out an application form and present it along with your library card. Use is limited to the users above Junior high School age.
For duplicating printed materials which belong to Asaka Library, the library has a copying machine which may be used for a nominal fee.
